South West Clinical School Journal
About This Journal
The Journal was established in 2020 by the Cornwall-based Clinical School as part of their wider workforce engagement activities used to talent spot future clinical academics. They had earlier introduced a #400Word writing competition to engage staff and encourage writing and knowledge sharing about evidence informed practice, in just four hundred words, something that for many feels achievable. The competition introduced novice writers to journal publication in order to celebrate their clinical academic endeavours. As the competition generated a growing body of work that was believed to be worthy of greater exposure.
In 2023 the Journal’s impact was acknowledged in nurturing new talent and its reach was expanded across the South West Peninsular and now all Clinical School’s contribute.
In 2026 the Journal’s regional impact was acknowledged, winning the Developing a Research Skilled Workforce in the South West’s Outstanding System-Level Initiative Award.
