dc.description.abstract |
Morphactins are derivatives of 9-hydroxyfluorene-9-carboxylic acid which exhibit plant growth regulating activity. The aim of the work was to synthesise aza analogues (indenopyridines) of these compounds and to assess their biological activity. Additionally, because the chemistry of indenopyridines has received little attention a secondary objective was to extend knowledge in this area. Reviews of the synthesis and reactions of indenopyridine compounds are given. | |
