Abstract
A re-conjuring of the old stories of Britain. Discarding deference to kings and nobles, the origin tales and pervasive myths are stripped back to their raw magic. Crab & Bee have been into the caves under sacred hills, on ancient paths in the suburbs of Cardiff, in sinister vacuums in Milton Keynes, to the backrooms behind the ‘attractions’ to gather old and ancient tales. Familiar figures are here – Lady Godiva, Merlin, Sulis the Goddess of Bath – but not as they have been seen before, as genii loci, spirits of a patchwork place, stitched together by paths of chalk, streams of tin and Nine Wells.
