dc.description.abstract

This Keynote Address presentation explores the significance of being ‘physical’ to optimise wellbeing. Tim reflects on his research and experiences as a HPE and classroom teacher to advocate that the development of holistic health compliments PE, but we need to find balance between the HPE strands in schools. Tim encourages teachers to embrace health, but not at the cost of the ‘physical’. Through investigating various strengths and weaknesses of HPE teachers and HPE implementation in primary schools, Tim invites teachers to reflect on their context, and challenges them to identify if there are possibilities for improvement in HPE?
