Adversarial courts, therapeutic justice and protecting children in the family justice system*

Abstract

Abstract There are indications of a marked and growing move towards less adversarial approaches to justice for child protection cases in the English and Welsh family court. This article explores the advantages and some challenges of such a move, and some implications for the legal system and social work working as part of a wider system for protecting children from harm.
