dc.description.abstract

A field experiment was carried out at Spurn Head, Humberside as part of the British Beach and Nearshore Dynamics (B-BAND) project. The B-BAND measurements at Spurn Head were obtained over 10 tidal cycles during April 1991. Three tidal cycles are described in the present work which encompass a spectrum of conditions from storm to calm. The beach at the field site comprised a veneer of sand and shingle overlying a glacial till shore plug.
