dc.description.abstract |
This thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the structure and properties of natural kaolinites. The second chapter describes the synthesis of kaolinite and a study of various reaction parameters and their effect on the morphology of synthetic kaolinites. Chapters 3 and 4 are devoted to Electron Spin Resonance in natural and doped synthetic kaolinites. Chapter 5 is a study of Fe²˖ and Fe³˖ in kaolinite by Mössbauer spectroscopy. The final chapter consists of a short summary and discussion with some suggestions for future work. | |
